Chocolate Dessert Cake


  • 125g butter, chopped
  • 400g dark chocolate, chopped (you can use milk chocolate if you prefer)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup MAC Foods Sorghum Flour
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 1 cup almond meal
  • 5 eggs


  1. Preheat oven to 170°C
  2. Place butter and chocolate in a bowl & either microwave, checking regularly or melt it in a heatproof dish on the stove top over a saucepan of simmering water.
  3. Add sugar, flour, milk and almond meal and mix well to combine
  4. Add the eggs and combine well
  5. Pour mixture into a greased 22cm round tin or 18cm square tin lined with baking paper
  6. Cover tin with foil and bake for 40 minutes
  7. Serve with your favourite accompaniment such as ice cream, cream, berries etc
